OVERVIEW
Understanding the history of the concepts of ‘nature, and ‘ecology’ from the perspective of the history of science. Starting with the Pre-Socratic natural scientists, this course acts as a historic scientific foundation for understanding of the materials and concepts that landscape architects work, concepts like objectivity, scientific method, event, time, truth, physical laws, entropic processes, non-linearity, self-organization, computation, evolution, and emergence.
